I think not, this is all about gullibility and feel good factor, unless she confines herself to the obvious and avoids the new age Religion of parasites like little Jonny Porritt, Al Gore and their odious ilk and of course the new age political tax collectors!

This, like so much of politics is all about faux fear as a method of controlling people and peoples!

Perhaps if she set herself up as ‘The Liquid Litter Lady’, merely highlighting the litter dumped in the oceans of which she has some small but specialist knowledge she might just have a plausible role – as she learns of the Millions of tons of sulphur poured into the sea daily, the 1,000s of millions of tons of fresh water extracted from the oceans steadily, the 10s of 1,000s of tons of chemicals dumped into the sea daily, the massive Oxygen release daily, the constant locking of CO2 into the ocean deeps, the 1,000s of tons of dead animals dumped in the sea daily, the Millions of tons of excrement released into the sea daily – need I continue.

Horrifying as the figures above may be there is absolutely nothing mankind can or should do about it as in order blame:
volcanoes and deep sea magma & gas release from stacks!
The sun and evaporation!
Rivers and coastal erosion!
Released mostly as ozone and by wave action!
A natural process of locking in CO2!
Fish, whales various mammals that die in the sea!
A natural process – there are no public toilets for tuna!!

Mankind’s influence is pretty darned minimal but perhaps she could encourage a fleet of wind driven vessels to trawl the sea for plastics as a first stop!

Hi,

I must say I do admire this young lady as an adventuress; her courage in pursuit of her chosen employ is clearly unparalleled.

I do however question her qualifications as an analytical scientist, climatologist, physicist, geologist and specialising astronomer.

I would follow her to the ends of the earth if I chose to be cold, wet, miserable, frightened and in danger and on my own for months at a time but sorry her unskilled regurgitation of propaganda and unsound science leaves me saddened at those in this faux science/new age Religion who are exploiting her.

She deserves better.
