the truth will out and EU Trade commissioner in arrogance, hubris and contempt tells us all what OUR politicians have tried to pretend they didn't know!

Watch this shocking interview which shows the ill mannered contempt the EU's unelected, self styled, self serving elite really have for those they exploit for their own ends!

The tragic point is there is absolutely no serious organisation representing the very clear revulsion an ever increasing thinking and responsible grouping in these United Kingdoms think of the malign influence and role of The EU and their wish to Leave-The-EU with UKIP increasingly missing the entire point and playing directly into the hands of those who are all too willing to betray these United Kingdoms for their own gain.

Hi,

UKIP has a good article in The Sun today over the by-line of Nigel Farage.
It is such a pity that with some sound comment coming from UKIP and being published, at last - it is so damaged as a result of UKIP association with racism, anti judaism, anti homosexuality, extremism, bullying and the dishonest & corrupt use of a small army of low lifes and sock puppets willing to lie and defame from their cowardly stance.

Without responsible behaviour UKIP does more harm than good to the wish of the majority of the British peoples to Leave-The-EU - without some gravitas and a clear exit & survival strategy UKIP can talk and publish all it likes but it will continue to bump along the bottom of British politics with an average vote when it can find a candidate of around 5-7% which is inadequate to be of any real significance in the struggle for Independence.

The constant reports of defamatory lies, corruption, back stabbing & lack of vision & political nouse guarantees UKIP's long term irrelevance.

Now David Cameron is trying to do it again. His “cast-iron guarantee” on an EU referendum, made in the pages of The Sun, soon rusted. His next con trick will be telling you he needs a chance to renegotiate with Europe and make a deal.

This newspaper is right to look at the possibility of recalibrating our relationship with Brussels but I am sceptical as to whether we would ever get the best deal for Britain.
Any agreement needs to get the go-ahead from all the other countries in the EU.

It would be like trying to have an amicable divorce with 26 ex-partners who all blame you for their problems — partners who cost you £50million a day, by the way.

They are not going to send us home with a box of Belgian chocolates and a bottle of French red.

At the very best, Mr Cameron will arrive back from Brussels, cheeks flushed with victory, telling us we’re just in the “single market” now and that means trade — nothing more, nothing less.

The single market cripples British businesses.

The single market is responsible for all those health and safety regulations and environmental directives that this newspaper has campaigned against for years.

More than that, if we remain a part of it, we still won’t be able to strike trade deals with the rest of the world. While China, Brazil, India and the rest of the Commonwealth flourish, we will be handcuffed to the EU, with their sky-high unemployment rates, doomed single currency and economies set to stagnate for the next ten to 20 years.

Every year, the EU sells us £52billion more in goods than we buy from them.

We have more of a taste for German cars than they do for Scotch whisky, and it is nonsense to suggest they‘d refuse to sell us another Merc if we left the EU.

Renegotiation is an option but not a solution.

EU and cry ... our report

The British people deserve a true choice in a straight in/out referendum. Mr Cameron does not want you to have that poll, in case you don’t give him the answer he wants — which is to stay in the EU. But only after a NO vote could we get that free-trade deal. You know, the one we thought we’d originally signed up to.

Sixty-two per cent of Sun readers do not trust the PM. This gives me hope.

The GUARDIAN ICM Poll has clearly been influenced by the largely irrelevant storm in a tea cup over phone hacking:
It all looks all to much as if the Police corruption was, as with the police murders very much a product of Labour style of governance.

It is hard to hold the media accountable for paying police for information when it was the job of the police to ensure such bribery did not happen.

As for the phone hacking in what way was that so serious with regard to the media itself?

ANYONE who is fool enough or so insignificant that mobile phones are used who is then dumb enough to leave messages must surely be seen as fair game.

This equates to someone undressing in front of a groundfloor window and then complaining people looked in!

Everyone of ANY intelligence must surely have been aware that mobile phones are not a secure communication method.

I do appreciate a big deal was made of it as distraction therapy from the incredible mess made of the economy by Labour and the failure of the Tories to bring in the cuts essential to manage the reduction of Labour's debt and reduce government employment by 50% also dispensing with every single QUANGO.

I appreciate that much of the attack on the media is based on anger of the MPs for having been exposed as being on the fiddle and the dishonesty of The Telegraph particularly for having fundamentally lied about secondary allowances based upon a stolen disk of information when Heather Brooke had an FoI in place and was negotiating to produce a responsible story unlike the rancid misrepresentation by the Telegraph which became the style to follow.

It is easy to play to the ignorance of the Left Wing and make villains out of successful men and women and blame Left Wing failures on America because it tends to be more successful being bigger and more incentivised than the left wing would wish.

The polls indicate very little at this stage when you consider because of the misrepresentation of secondary allowances in knee jerk reaction by 'tribal' voter a huge last minute protest vote was built up on which, since it was irrelevant EU politics where MEPs are an irrelevance UKIP gained about 10 MEPs as they were heading for a well earned wipe out without the protest vote.

If we are to talk of probity, reliability, morality and ethics there is little doubt that News International should re-launch the NoTW and someone should have the integrity to shut down The Met. & sack a large number of useless and venal politicians.

A constituent of mine has drawn my attention to the below leaflet which he received posted through his door in the Abbey area of Bangor yesterday.

Leaflet delivered in Bangor by UKIP:

Firstly I totally disagree with UKIP’s narrow minded view of immigration and the EU. To basically label immigrants as people who simply drain our public resources is abhorrent and neglects the important role that immigrants play in helping support public service delivery eg as doctors, teachers, nurses, police officers etc and in helping support our economy eg shop workers, cleaners, entrepreneurs.

We even have in Northern Ireland an immigrant as an MLA and a very fine one she is too!

Bangor and North Down generally have good race relations with a number of very active ethnic minority community groups. The emphasis needs to be on helping support immigrants to adapt to life in Northern Ireland and to integrate them into our local communities. UKIP’s “close the door” mentality only inflames tensions; appealing to people’s fears rather than reality.

Secondly the leaflet demonstrates just how much commitment UKIP has to Northern Ireland. The White Cliffs of Dover – hardly a symbol that many people in Northern Ireland will identify with!

It also refers to 1000 people a day coming into Britain to settle. Last time I checked Northern Ireland wasn’t in Britain, it was in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

A local UKIP member has simply handed out the same leaflet here as I am guessing that they delivered in Buckinghamshire in last year’s Westminster election. I’m sorry but if you are serious about making gains in Northern Ireland then you are going to have to work harder than that.

UKIP will no doubt try to present itself as a “non-sectarian centre-right unionist party”. Although these “non-sectarian” credentials can seriously be drawn into question given their previous dalliances with the TUV.

Whilst I have been out delivering leaflets introducing myself to the people of Abbey and informing them what their local Alliance team is doing and what help we can offer them, UKIP is delivering leaflets designed to inflame tensions about immigration with no mention of who they are locally or what they are offering local people.

Northern Ireland has suffered from being a rather insular society. I welcome those coming to settle here with fresh perspectives a different world views. Reminding us that the world is bigger than Northern Ireland can only be a good thing.

I felt compelled to respond but refrained from pointing out that if he aspires to politics he had well be minded that Northern Ireland is a part of these United Kingdoms and ALSO a part of The British Isles (Britain), in common parlance - A useful item of knowledge should he succumb to the bribes of the EU and have need of finding his way back to his roots when sickened!

Hi,

you rather loftily start your blog ‘a constituent of mine’ yet I can see no constituency that you are seemingly elected to!

With regard to the sad despoilment of the countryside in your region by utterly useless windmills polluting the atmosphere with the huge amount of energy used to make them and the environment with their vibration and damage to the soil not to mention their catastrophic effect on some species of birds and all to no positive gain save as alarmism.

I am surprised you feature such a sad sight as your picture when just one discreetly placed Nuclear power station could more efficiently and much more safely supply the electricity needs of all of Northern Ireland and at times leave spare capacity to export to Eire.

You then continue with your rather inept comments on border control on a planet where population has more than tripled since 1945 and economic migrancy is becoming endemic – perhaps you can explain in what way open borders and the resultant invasion and destruction of culture can benefit a Country – ANY Country!

You seem blissfully unaware of any of the facts that might justify your aspirations to one day represent people. Perhaps a quick glance at the catastrophic effects of EU membership on Eire might help you understand perhaps even the simple fact that due to EU utter incompetence and centralised greed the obscene implementation of The CAP & CFP has rendered not just Britain but all of EUrope unable to feed itself and not content with destroying third world farmers with EU agricultural subsidies the EU is now stealing the fish from the mouths of Africans by fishing out and destroying fish stocks in the bite of Africa – as it has already done with the fish stocks of the waters around these United kingdoms.

You make no mention of the farcical contrivance of The EUro that has, together with the utter incompetence of economic illiterates bankrupt Ireland – now left with no ability to make a meaningful decision on anything and Britain close behind with a National debt of £4.8 Trillion – a sum that can NEVER be paid off let alone sustained in compound interest.

Do you hate your EU Region so much you would lead them ever deeper into the mire.

Do you really believe politics is the right place for you?

Hi,

students seem not alone in completely overlooking the FACT that the Lib.Dims. were not elected to Government in fact they hold a tiny number of seats and sold out any principle they may pretend to in return for acting as ballast for the Tory Party which held the most seats.

Did you REALLY believe Nick Clegg would deliver ANYTHING other than betrayal?
Do not forget he is a complete sell out - having held the position of Massively Expensive Parasite as an MEP giving credibility to the undemocratic, corrupt, profligate centralised and undemocratic EU for many years.

Further do realise the Lib.Dims. have always espoused sell out to direct rule by the malign EU and ensuring that Britain dumps control of its currency and surrenders the £ to the control of the ECB YET poll after poll shows Lib.Dim. voters by majority wish to retain the £ and value our Democracy.

Clearly Clegg is, if not dishonest, at very least corrupt - you will note Nick xclegg has never pointed out to British peoples that he is utterly irrelevant as is every single MP - Do read The EUropean Communities Act and The New Constitution in the form of The Lisbon Treaty which was authorised by Tony Blair & signed by Gordon Brown without ANY meaningful opposition from a single domestic politician - even UKIP did not raise a finger to oppose the final sell out to EU direct control of Britain!

Yes Clegg misled you - are you surprised or is it his irrelevance that surprises you?

The title YOU chose for the thread would tend to indicate prejudice rather than knowledge of party principles and economics.

I admit that I skim read his previous post, Major, since it was pretty much an angry rant, hard to follow when someone rants like that.

Perhaps that would explain why you found it hard to follow - try not to skim read it leads to misunderstandings.

My error was also based on the fact that this 'independent' sure seems to rant and write like most 'Kippers that I have read on forums.

I am glad you have noticed a level of commitment and passion in the patriotic well being of our country amongst some, including myself.

I am so glad you found the time to read the links as clearly they are VERY broad based and provide a huge amount of factually supported information for you.

As I say, I am not as familiar with UKIP as I am other parties,

Then may I respectfully suggest you serve yourself ill by skim reading and leaping to accusatory conclusions!

however, it would not surprise me if their founder, and most of their membership, are disgruntled Tories, who, as far as I know, have no plans to leave the EU?

I understand from reading and studying political parties over best part of half a century that the backing of UKIP is almost equally ex Tory & Labour with a strong endorsement from Lib.Dims. who have been so betrayed by their party. That their leader is something of a spiv. with the attributes of a cartoon 'Tory Boy' tends rather to mislead.

There is a lot of EU bashing on here, yet, there must be[B] some[/B] benefit to it,

Have you studied the values, beliefs of the British peoples as reflected by the polls - perhaps a glance at [URL="htt://TheMidnightGroup.blogspot.com"]htt://TheMidnightGroup.blogspot.com[/URL] would help as the results of various polls are readily available.

Perhaps as an excercise you could list the benefits of membership of the centralised, undemocratic, profligate over regulated EU for these United Kingdoms which could be justified in your most fancifull dream worth paying £48 Million a day for 365 days a week - try to show just ONE benefit perhaps!

at least in the eyes of our present Government, otherwise they would surely leave it, would they not - especially at a time when they are cutting costs.

You overlook just how venal and useless our Government has become and is - we have had 13 unlucky years of economic illiteracy and near criminal damage to Britain - do note that the Tories sat upon their hands as did the rump Lib.Dims.

You will have realised that Westminster is merely a rubber stamping office for EU diktat undemocratically imposed - under the terms of The EUropean Communities Act sectyion 2 part 2 or section one part 1 (sorry can't remember which) clearly states that it is the duty of the Minister concerned to enact into British law EU diktat whether by Order in Council or Statutory Instrument - which may explain why more Law is enacted when Parliament is in recess than when in session.

This leads to about 82% of ALL law enacted at Westminster being undebated, in any meaningfull terms, and enacted by diktat - that the balance of ALL law is enacted must be compliant with EU law - thus Westminster no longer has any meaningfull duties or role.

Much hot air and a liberal dose of duplicitous window dressing is the only output of the EU.

I would agree with you that reforms of the police are probably needed.

I have always found them a dissapointment.

I can cite examples, if you or anyone else cares me to do so. [I]What[/I] would I reform?

Examples are easy to note perhaps you would care to cite the 37 summary executions carried out against citizens leading to murder for which no police officer has been on trial despite the indisputable unlawfull murders.

Well, there has to be greater consistancy in the way that they go about their business, that would be a start.

Indeed it would - for them to carry out that business atall in the manner the British public require would be quite a good start!

May just be me, but I thought they were there to apply the law of the land equally and without predjudice.

It is convincing these out of control oaffs of this fact that would be the place to start. Currently they are on ALL counts unfit for purpose and as for remuneration and reward I totally agree with Major S.

I don't believe that their function is to apply it as and when[B] they[/B] see fit, to[B] who[/B] they see fit.

They have become a force answerable to their own remit designed and carried out in house.

Many police officers that I have come across are pretty thick!

A masterfull understatement in my experience.

I was required to give a statement about three years ago, and, during this I was asked what frame of mind a person was in. I considered the question before answering 'I would describe them as being aloof'. The two officers, one male, one female, both aged about 21, they looked at one another as if I had just landed from Mars. After a short pause they replied 'How do you spell that?'. I told them. Then they asked me what it MEANT!!! I find that unacceptable.

Sadly I do not believe that it would be easy to find individuals who would not replicate your experience.

It is just one example, Major, but it illustrates my view of the police very well.

Talk of 5% reduction per annum are sadly risible already there has been a reduction of between 35-45% reduction engineered during the later part of the economically illiterate 13 unlucky years - achieved by reduction of the purchasing power of the £.

Currently the obscene debt incurred by Gordon Brown's incompetence will ensure further collapse of our currency only outspripped by The EUro with every likelihood of a total collapse of currency value in EUrope due to the complete incompetence of the EU to address or even understand the enormity of the EU's financial crisis with no exports that are not over priced on a world market.

Britain can and could achieve a measure of self sufficiency despite the criminal irresponsibility of surrendering control of our borders to the malevollent EU. Leading irrefutably to the influx of economic alien invasion and gross over population - no invasion in history has represented such an influx of foreigners be they aliens from The EU - Africa or the Indian sub continent.

Whether parliament will be honest and point out that the police will have to join EVERY Government employee on 1/3 of the income they currently have or merely devalue to hide the fact is one of the great conundrums of the immediate future!

IF the police can not cope with the reality then it seems we will slide into bankruptcy at an escalating rate with an increasing degree of anarchic criminality.

I do hope you can cope with understanding my 'rant' but do excuse my increasing anger as I learn ever more of the enormity of the betrayal of these United Kingdoms by its utterly incompetent and frequently corrupt politicians and Snivil Cervants!

It is my belief that if our politicians lack the intelligence to realise that by failing to extricate ourselves from the EU RAPIDLY then I believe there is every possibility of around 200,000,000 deaths in famine, disease and the wars of dissassociation across EUrope where there Channel will do little to save us.

Browsing the excellent 4OD pages on YouTube you will find a long-forgotten TV series set in parliament.

Annie's Bar lasted just one series in 1996, and to be frank it is a bit slow, a bit dry and a bit cliched, but it does run to 10 episodes.

The saving grace is a a kick-ass performance from Larry Lamb, recently I am told, of EastEnders, as the no-nonsense government whip.

The show was apparently filmed just hours before transmission to ensure it was bang up to date – it all seems so far away now.

Much of the tasteless tedium that creeps in may well be down to the fact that listed in the credits as a researcher is one Derek Draper, who interestingly you may recall Gawain Towler the odious UKIP Press Officer and wanabe PPC and MEP boasted of having seduced or the other way around when Gawain & his then wife were producing trendy 'so called' art and publishing pornographic pictures of himself!

John Major as prime minister, hopeful Labour MPs dreaming of government ...

Sadly the real Annie's Bar was closed in 2006 due to a decline in business.

Annie's Bar, a historic part of the House of Commons which has been the backdrop for plotting in smoke-filled corners for decades, is to be closed by MPs.

The bar was a favourite haunt of Kenneth Clarke, the cigar-smoking, beer-loving Tory MP, when he was the Chancellor of the Exchequer in John Major's government. Barbara Windsor, the former Carry On and EastEnders star, was among the VIP visitors. Entrance to the bar was limited to journalists and MPs, who joked that it was the only place in the Palace of Westminster where they could escape their constituents, or their wives.

Government whips also used to make a point of dropping into the bar to find out what was being plotted in the dark recesses of the Commons by their own MPs.

The drinking den was woven into fictional works about the Palace of Westminster, and was a favourite meeting place for MPs and journalists in television political dramas such as House of Cards.

But MPs on the Commons Administration Committee found that it was under-used, takings had halved over the past 10 years to £9,000 a year and it was relying on a £20,000-a-year subsidy from the taxpayer. They have recommended it should be closed, and it is likely that the decision will be approved by most MPs.

"It now costs two and a half times as much to run as it takes in sales," said the committee. "It is clear that the time has come for the bar to be shut and the space used for another more useful purpose. As a meeting place for MPs and Press Lobby [journalists] it has become largely obsolete."

Annie's Bar was established in a corner of the members' lobby in the early part of the last century, and would have served statesmen such as Winston Churchill with a whisky stiffener before major debates. However, the House authorities took a dim view of drink being dispensed so close to the chamber, and moved the bar to a basement room alongside the famous terrace overlooking the Thames in the mid-1960s.

The bar was reopened in 1967 by the late Robert Maxwell, who was chairman of the Commons Catering Committee, before becoming the owner of the Daily Mirror. Betty Boothroyd, the former speaker of the Commons, was also at the opening and once demonstrated her skills as a high-kicking former Tiller Girl there.

However, it was moved in 1995 to a more obscure corner of the Commons and its custom collapsed. There was an attempt to revive its flagging fortunes by installing a pool table, which attracted newer MPs, including Shahid Malik, the Labour MP for Dewsbury, who won the MPs' pool tournament, although he is tee-total. In recent months, it has become popular with smokers driven out of the Strangers' Bar, since it became a smoking-free zone but that is not enough to keep it open.

Suggestions for using the space include a take-away coffee bar, a dry-cleaning service, or members' dressing rooms, but when it closes, some of the older MPs believe the Commons will never be quite the same again.
