#G342* - Is Lord TURNER A Fool, A Plant or Merely A Vegetable?

One is forced to marvel at the rarefied atmosphere some of these hugely paid wise men of our society are living in - clearly they are completely out of touch with reality!

Just read Lord Turner's idiocy!

This forces one to wonder if he is in fact a complete fool and so out of touch with reality he has not a clue what has been going on around him for almost 60 benighted years as our life blood has been sucked out.

Seven years ago today my Father's funeral was held in a small church in Gloucestershire and it was then as she emerged from the shadow of my Father's protection that I realised in front of our eyes my Mother had for at least a couple of years been withdrawing from life. The process was gentle and slow and each time after a few strange days put down to one of her 'migraines'.

It took another year to realise these were not 'migraines' these were tiny TIAs (Transient Ischemic Attacks) or mini strokes. Each time leaving a small area of brain damaged - the salami slicing we see in politics as our rights and freedoms are steadily withdrawn. I can't tell you which TIA was the one that started to 'join the dots' but the loss of liberty was progressive and now she has been in a home for 3 years and early on she started to not recognise us only my voice, then not at all and now she recognises no one not even herself!

As this happens and she is less and less capable of looking after herself her problems become ever more costly to provide for her - now the cost at £850 a week is crippling and the quality of life is obscene and dependency is total - so very like the surrender of our country to The EU but I wonder how long it will be before Britain is spoon fed with unidentifiable blended mush and doubly incontinent?

Can Lord Turner be such a fool he can not see the process happening as our legal structures, laws, justice, and self control are steadily handed over a salami slice at a time - we have the odd migraine like a price hike in Council Tax but we settle in and cope with it, the next attack is bins removed less frequently but we get used to it, then a cut in policing and we learn to handle the increase in crime - Clearly our Country is going through similar progressions to death that my Mother is suffering and Lord Turner is seemingly too stupid to understand.

Lord Turner does not even recognise a tank when it is parked on our lawn!

Is Lord Turner's role that of a plant placed as an agent of the enemy or is he the gently slumbering vegetable sublimely unaware that he is already on the list for the stew!

It was good to hear Lord Turner, chairman of the Financial Services Authority (FSA), issue a clear and strident defence of our regulatory sovereignty.

“We are clear the fundamental process of supervision has to occur where expertise is, with the national authorities,” he said. It was “vitally important” Brussels did not intervene directly in running our markets, he warned.

If the EU had its tanks on our lawns, such brave words would be an effective shell burst to drive them off.

 

Except the tanks have already rolled over our lawns and are now camped outside the FSA’s HQ in Canary Wharf, with a division trundling along Commercial Street towards the Bank of England, which will take up regulatory duties in a couple of years.

Why does Lord Turner think the EU has now created three European Supervision Authorities if not to intervene in the regulation of our financial services industry? Even for an onanist bureaucracy such as Brussels, inventing regulators to simply regulate themselves would be an indulgence too far. These bodies have the powers not just to intervene in UK markets but to intervene with specific UK companies and rank above national regulators in the pecking order of power.

Regulators, such as Lord Turner, will be able to rail as much as they like against the EU’s City rules in future but the UK will have no more power to change them than Latvia or Malta.

Lord Turner’s words of warning are too little too late. As a watchdog he can bark at the EU, but he can no longer bite back.
