In 1850, the elderly master of a South Carolina estate took pen in hand and painstakingly divided up his possessions.
Among the spinning wheels, scythes, tablecloths and cattle that he bequeathed to his far-flung heirs was a 6-year-old slave girl valued soon afterward at $475.
In his will, she is described simply as the “negro girl Melvinia.”
Melvinia was ripped from her family, shipped to George and – while still only a teenager – gave birth to a son, fathered by an unknown white man.
It’s unlikely he was proud of the association at the time. But perhaps he should have been. His great-great-great grandchild - this son's great-great grandchild – was Michelle Obama.

Is this article designed to show that sex abuse, cross ethnic breeding, single parenting, adversity, challenge, poverty and ignorance - even when judged out of the context of time should never again be used as an excuse for criminal behaviour in a court of law?
Slavery comes in different styles in different ages - every child born in Britain is a slave to the economic illiteracy inflicted by the debts of Gordon Brown, in Japan one inherits the debts of service of ones ancestors, in India entire casts are slaves to bonded labour.
Get over it!
The Barbery slavers stole children, women and young men as slaves and left us Moorish Dancing (Morris!) and blacked up 'bogey men' in long standing traditional fairs.
Slavery is to us anathmetic, hence it was Wilberforce, Westminster & The Royal Navy that forced it to cease but to this day it continues in Africa & elsewhere.
What do people believe the Rwanda genocide is due to if not slavery and mismanagement of French Colonial rule!
Well done Michelle Obama the genetic mix and adversity seems to have worked exceeding well - looks, health, stature, intellect, ambition, humour, grace and much more when some would have chosen to be hoodied, junkies!

Have the Barbary traders appologised to Britain for seizing slaves from the south coast, the banks of The Severn estuary and Southern Ireland's coast? Have the leaders of Sierra Leone opted to refund America for all the slaves sold to them or to pay for enriching Sierra Leone?

Until we gain our liberty, restore our sovereignty, repatriate our democracy and reinstate our Justice system and our borders - defended by our Police and Military armed with sustainable and obtainable weaponry:
