since the concept of these ridiculous wind terbines is a complete inconvenient Green untruth one wonders if the spin off results justify removing them ALL.

They are a hugely expensive, grossly inefficient pretence at green power. Beyond all doubt they harm the ecosphere, they use a huge amount of energy to make them and even if one contributes to the daft nonsense of CO2 which tends to rise AS A RESULT OF rising temperature and not as the Warmist religion claims to cause it!

Astonishingly $100s of Millions have been spent on structuring the new religion with its temple currency of Carbon Credits for international carbon trading yet the very best they could come up with was the deeply flawed and highly selective IPCC report, for which the tax payers of the world have paid hugely in direct costs buying the loyalty of seemingly largely corrupt scientists - it is interesting when one realises that such as Paschauri and Al Gore have been resoundingly discreditted yet desparately many crooks try to convince that the heavy layers of deep white global warming and the sheets of global warming that has trapped dozens of ocean going vessels in the Baltic is a sign of the warming and they have dreamed up the dishonest Aesopian linguistic of 'deniers' for those who look at the facts rather than their hugely funded propaganda.

It is doubly risible that the warmist religion having spent $100 of Millions buying the propaganda and the scientists and salesmen claim that those who have studied the facts and exposed the lies are funded by big business - since we can identify, albeit with difficulty from the obfuscated figures the huge sums of our money squandered to buy the scam that seemingly has been bought to create a new currency base  to bridge the gap brought about by the catastrophic incompetence of our politicians who have destroyed the international monetary structure in pursuit of their own greed and willingness to use OUR money to buy their re-election!

The inconvenient truth that the total savings of producing power on these idiotic and ugly windmills leaves a net deficit when the power cost of producing and eventually dismantling these useless, ugly and dangerous edifices - the New Crosses marching obscenely across the landscape are not only damaging in terms of CO2 emissions, but use huge amounts of energy but produce little.

You may well be aware that I was born in January 1946 and first presented with cancer symptoms in November1998, in September 2001 (thanks to some intervention from Daniel Foggo, currently of The Sunday Times - which Gwent Area QUANGO for health seemingly found sharpened their minds!) I was admitted to The Royal Gwent Hospital where Windsor Bowsher performed a radical nephrectomy locating a 10cm. tumour in my left Kidney on the verge of breaking out!

Subsequently I have had bouts of Bladder Cancer.

I also compiled, with help, what seems to have been the ONLY patient led web resource for patients with various cancers that first tend to present through Urology - it is still on the net but I no longer participate.

I currently run a casual call me if I can help cancer help line - been there, done that got the scars to prove it and never had a head ache since - It is ALWAYS a bloody brain tumour - well until a few hours later when I discover it was only a headache but by then who cares!

I have read and investigated 1,000s of so called cancer cures from inserting Goji Berries (don't ask) through Apricot Kernels to expensive therapies in Mexico - Well if a multi Millionaire like Goldsmith can die of Prostate Cancer I guess anyone can regardless of all the so called cures. You can live on carrot juice and die orange if that turns you on.

HOWEVER - I do feel this just MIGHT be an answer, none of the others seem to make much difference - except to bank balances some can transfer ALL your money to the Sangomma's pocket!! Clever that but NOT a cure for cancer!

This article seems logical, sensible, free of quackery and all but mechanical - there seems no down side risk and if it comes in £500 - £1,000 surely it is worth trying it - I have seen people with bills well into 6 figures go on to die!

This was put to me by a responsible departmental head of a County Hospital in the NHS, who is a Biologist with lots of alphabet soup! Gordon Brown has avoided Boom & Bust by introducing Bust & Bankrupt – yet he has just transferred from the exchequer he bankrupted due to HIS economic illiteracy & additional borrowing of £1 Trillion, he has handed over £60,000,000 to the thieves in the EU to squander on the pretext of paying for HIS Governments profligate use of / creation of CO2 – Who cares how much CO2 is produced? Isure don’t as it has absolutely nothing to do with so called global warming!

Throughout the entire record of this planet the CO2 rate has risen as a RESULT OF periods of warming, of which there have been many. See Jim Franklin’s excellent compilation somewhere else on this Blog – it was well worth reading and well informed.

Since 1900, global sea levels have crept upward about seven inches. Rising temperatures are melting glaciers and ice sheets, as well as warming the oceans directly, which causes them to expand. Various researchers have attributed only a portion of the rise in water level to carbon dioxide (CO2)released by human actions—and blamed the rest on natural factors such as solar activity. The latest study goes much further, faulting people for more than three-quarters of the sea-level change during the past century.

Records of tide height have been kept for centuries at several seaports (Amsterdam since 1700, Liverpool since 1768, Stockholm since 1774, and many other places since 1850). Such long records have enabled Svetlana Jevrejeva, of the British government’s Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory in Liverpool, and two colleagues to statistically model the influence of various factors on sea level during the past three centuries, and to extrapolate the findings over the past millennium.

The team found that up until about 1800, sea levels actually fell owing to volcanic eruptions that periodically injected ash into the atmosphere, veiling the Sun and cooling the Earth. But as the waters rose after 1850, the biggest contributing factor was increasing atmospheric CO2.

Significantly, Jevrejeva’s team calculated that without the ongoing, mitigating effects of volcanic activity since 1880, sea levels would now be about three inches higher than they are.

This research was published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

The author is clearly an academic just trotting out mantras too stupid to realise they are being used - they talk of climate records back to the late 1700s, no wonder they show they are idiots when compared to the full record available to us.

EDITORIAL: Skating on thin ice for climate change

Steven Chu's zealotry leaves Americans cold

Energy Secretary Steven Chu didn't reach the pinnacle of his profession by treading the well-worn path of modern group-think. It's regrettable that the Nobel Prize-winning physicist is stuck in that rut now.

Mr. Chu took great pains in a Feb. 19 speech to a Denver energy summit in arguing the case for human-induced climate change. "We have to convince all of America that this is a nonpartisan issue. ... This is our economic future," he said. 

You have to feel for a man of science trying to make the jump to politics. In science, facts speak for themselves. In politics, facts are often run to ground by baloney. As energy secretary, Mr. Chu has traded fact for fiction and now spends his days selling President Obama's discredited climate-change policy. 

Surely, Mr. Chu must be aware that the case for human-induced climate change, the cause that he has embraced as the paramount mission of his secretariat, has been exposed as fraught with fraud. Two weeks ago, Yvo de Boer, the United Nations' pre-eminent climate-change official, announced his resignation amid a groundswell of derision over his failure to confront the global-warming hoax. Evidence of falsified data, errors in the U.N.'s own Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report and biased ground-based temperature data are all part of the body of bogus science that has become known as Climategate. 

On Wednesday, when Mr. Chu toured the site of Abu Dhabi's Masdar City - touted as "the world's first carbon-neutral, zero-waste city" - he felt compelled to voice climate-change-equals-jobs rhetoric similar to that which he delivered in Denver. When completed, the sparkling 6-square-kilometer model city will be equipped with the world's priciest energy technologies, including solar, hydrogen and geothermal power plants - energy toys that a few opulent oil sheiks can afford to play with, but a country the size of America cannot. What he saw there will not be "our economic future," at least not anytime soon. 

Mr. Chu's official government biography crows that he has "devoted his recent scientific career to the search for new solutions to our energy challenges and stopping global climate change - a mission he continues with even greater urgency as secretary of energy." 

The Cabinet secretary could learn from the example of the wise Viking King Canute. Legend has it that when His Majesty learned that his flattering courtiers were claiming he was "so great, he could command the tides of the sea to go back," he had his throne carried to the seashore. When the tide rose, he commanded the waves to halt. When his command had no effect, he pointed out to all that though the deeds of kings might appear great to men, they were nothing compared to the forces of nature. 

Likewise, the energy secretary would be smart to apprehend the limits of his power. Climate will change - or cease changing - but not by his leave. The real challenge of helping Americans develop clean, affordable and plentiful energy sources should be enough to occupy his days in office.

Global Warming: Fact or Fiction?

For the last three decades there has been a lot of discussion on the subject of global warming, and the cause has been sat firmly in the lap of Industrialisation and the pollution of the atmosphere as a by-product of this process.

Billions have been spent by Governments, companies and even individuals during this time as their part in alleviating this perceived threat to our future, but the simple fact is the perceived evidence is all circumstantial, there is actually no direct evidence, no smoking gun, no sign saying “ I told you so”. Much of the evidence has been tailored to fit the hypothesis, or so it would seem, with funding for research under increasing competition and tighter budgets, it would be little wonder if many of the researchers have been blinded to allow the evidence to fit their theory to coincide with their way of thinking, their research project and most importantly, the financial considerations of maintaining a research grant.

This statement should not be taken as questioning the research of every scientist in their field, or that any deliberate attempt to mislead has occurred, scientists are human like the rest of us, they make mistakes, they lean toward their own way of thinking and have a nasty habit of ignoring the little bits of evidence that do not fit their theory, especially if they question otherwise supposedly established facts.

That global warming has occurred is not the issue, it has in the past, it may be occurring now, and it certainly will occur in the future, as has global cooling, however, the question that we need answered is this, “Is the activities of Man the cause of Global warming as has been claimed in the last two decades, if not, what is the cause, and what can we do about it?”

I don’t want readers to think I am in the pay of some large organisation bent on reversing the drive by the International community in the form of the Kyoto Treaty, there are very many reasons for the actions in this treaty to be taken, Global warming is, in my opinion, the least of the problems. The health benefits of not pouring millions of tonnes of noxious pollutants into the atmosphere cannot be understated, and as such the progress made so far needs to be expanded upon still further. There can never be a substitute for clean, pollutant free air.

Whilst the Kyoto Treaty is a good thing and should be continued, it must be done for the right reasons, reasons we can readily identify with. Of course many will claim that there are health effects to global warming, the most obvious being skin cancers, however if we spend Billions over the next few decades addressing a problem that is natural, then we have missed the boat, we would be far better off spending those Billions improving the environment for health reasons alone, and a few more to counteract the natural process threatening our world.

Overwhelmingly the message seems to be coming out that there has been a massive misinterpretation of the evidence and "facts" and what we are seeing is simply a natural variation in the cycle of the planet. We should not forget that the Earth is much warmer than it was from around 1450 to about 1850, a period known as the little Ice Age, however it is also much colder than the period from about 900 to 1150, known as the Medieval Warm Period, where grapes for wine were grown as far north as Tyneside. During the Roman occupation, there is evidence that grapes may have been grown as far north as modern Edinburgh, possibly further.

There is evidence that parts of Queen Maud (Dronning Maud) Land in Antarctica may have actually been Ice free up to about 6000 BCE (Before Current Era), and if this is the case then the trans-Antarctic current, which stops warm water from the tropics reaching this part of Antarctica must have either stopped or been overwhelmed. Research has already proved that Western Antarctica, that includes Queen Maud Land has undergone repeated periods of de-glaciation during interglacial periods that had CO² concentrations higher than today with MGT's about 3°C higher than today

Environmentalists know very little about how the planet works, about how it interacts with the Moon, the Sun and how the gravity of Jupiter has an impact on our planet's motion about the Sun, that will also impact our climate. They do not understand that the collision of India into Asia, resulting in the Pamir-Hindu-Kush and the Tibetan uplands resulted in a massive climatic shift over millions of years that appears to have been responsible for the sudden climate shift about 2.5 million years ago that led to the modern period of Glaciation events that have come and gone about 10 times in that period.

They ignore the fact that the last period of Glaciation started some 74,000 years ago, coincidently with the eruption of the last super volcanic eruption (Toba) which would have resulted in a massive cooling of the planet.

The simple truth is there is no definitive evidence for anthropomorphic Global warming, but plenty of evidence for naturally induced fluctuations in the mean global temperature of the planet, and even periods when CO² level were higher than is the case today and even when they were not, the Earth has had many periods of higher temperatures.

Carbon Dioxide levels have fluctuated too over the course of Earth's history

And the almost religious belief that CO² alone causes temperature change in the atmosphere is shot down by geological evidence that many Environmentalist like to ignore.
